Optimal energy management of active buildings by participating in peer-to-peer energy markets

چکیده :
Smart meters and other advanced grid systems enable homes to participate in power grid transactions. These active buildings form a network that can exchange energy within itself and with the local energy market through a Peer-to-Peer (P2P) platform. This paper presents a MILP model that minimizes the operating costs of active building occupants by optimizing their energy sales and purchase decisions. It also proposes a new method to integrate a P2P energy market into the building energy management model, which improves the energy performance and economic benefits of buildings. The findings indicate that the suggested model can lower building operating expenses by 3.2% when contrasted with a baseline scenario lacking P2P energy exchange. The results also demonstrate that the proposed method to integrate the P2P market into the building energy management model can enhance the energy performance and economic benefits of the buildings by allowing them to adjust their energy consumption and production according to the market signals.
