چکیده :
Abstract— The market-oriented approach is one of the most efficient methods to enhance the energy system's flexibility. A design challenge of flexibility markets is the lack of product and service clarity, leading to the characterization of flexibility. Thus, the locational feature of flexibility has been considered for quantifying operational flexibility at a specific grid location. This paper proposes an approach that allows the virtual power plant (VPP) as a flexibility service provider (FSP) to participate in the energy and appointed flexibility markets By considering locational flexibility. The VPP manages the energy of distributed energy resources (DERs) and consumers and exploits the locational flexibility of flexible units at the distribution level network. The proposed model is price-based unit commitment, which maximizes the VPP's profit besides evaluating flexibility. Since the sequential model is assumed, the bidding decisions are formulated as two-stage stochastic program. The scenario-based stochastic approach could deal with the uncertainties associated with the DERs. A numerical study on the 34 Bus IEEE test feeder confirmed the model's efficacy in enabling demand-side flexibility. The numerical results show that the developed framework increases the system's flexibility, mainly the possibility of nodal flexibility.
