Design of a Wind Farm in the Siahpoosh Region of Qazvin Integrated With a Hydropower Plant for Energy Storage

چکیده :
This paper presents the design and feasibility of a combined wind-hydro power plant, where the hydro system operates with a pump-as-turbine (PAT) configuration. This study aims to address Tarom Sofla energy needs by integrating wind and hydropower systems in the Siahpoosh region. Based on predicted energy demand for the following years, the required number of wind turbines is calculated to approximately meet the demand. Using these calculations, the wind power plant is designed, and the required reservoir volume for the hydropower plant is determined using hourly production-demand charts. A comparison of the results obtained from the simulation with real-world data from this wind farm validates the accuracy of the proposed model, as the outcomes are consistent. The study demonstrates the reliability of the proposed methodology and highlights its potential for addressing future energy needs.
