Wind Speed Forecasting and Probability Distribution Analysis using Measured Data at Weather Stations in Iran

چکیده :
In this paper, we provide a thorough analysis of wind speed probability distribution functions (PDF) based on measured spatio-temporal data at several weather stations in Iran. We present statistical analysis of wind energy where several proposed probability density functions such as Normal, Weibull, Gamma and Wald are verified according to the real-time measured data. The accuracy of density functions is investigated through the goodness of fit procedure. Finally, we provide a forecasting method for wind speed prediction using Autoregressive-moving-average (ARMA) model.
