Optimal Management of the Shared Battery in a Multi-Microgrid System

چکیده :
The utilization of a shared battery instead of independent storage systems can improve the performance and profitability of a multi-microgrid system. In this paper, a novel method is proposed for energy management of a shared storage system in order to increase the profit of microgrids’ operators. Each microgrid has different energy consumption pattern and local renewable energy units like the wind turbine and the photovoltaic panel. The shared battery is utilized besides local renewable energy units to supply the required demand of microgrids using eco-friendly energy instead of buying electricity from the upstream grid. The operator of each microgrid suggests its own extra stored energy to other microgrids after the management of local energy. Moreover, the operator can use the suggested power of other microgrids for supplying the extra hourly demand of the microgrid. The energy optimization problem is formulated to maximize the overall profit of the operators of microgrids. The numerical results show that the proposed method has the high efficiency in increasing the profitability of microgrids and their performance.
