Evaluating the Environmental Benefits of a Photovoltaic-Based Microgrid for Industrial Hydrogen Production in Hot and Dry Region of Iran

چکیده :
This article examines the feasibility of a microgrid (MG) system in Iran for producing hydrogen to meet industrial energy needs. The study utilized HOMER Pro software to simulate the system and found that the hybrid photovoltaic/wind/hydrogen electrolyzer MG is capable of generating energy for industrial loads. The results demonstrate that in regions with favorable renewable resource conditions, such as Iran, a photovoltaic-based MG could serve as a cost-effective option for supplying hydrogen to industrial users. The proposed MG configuration has the potential to produce 2,449 tons of hydrogen per year and reduce CO2 emissions 3,715,584 tons per year.
