چکیده :
Composite insulators, constructed from polymer-based composites that possess the ability to withstand UV rays, pollutants, and mechanical stress, represent the latest technology of outdoor insulators. Presently, these insulators are supplanting traditional porcelain and glass ones due to their remarkable electrical and mechanical characteristics. Benefits like reduced weight, simplified transport and setup processes, as opposed to porcelain and glass, non-fragility, impressive mechanical resilience, elevated leakage current tolerance in polluted environments, and low maintenance requirements, render them exceptionally well-suited for application in High-Voltage Direct Current transmission (HVDC) lines. This paper aims to briefly investigate the applications and explore the positive effects of composite insulators within the HVDC grids.
